Monday, July 1st, 5pm to 8pm 

The Southern Supper Class with Chef Ashley Strickland Freeman will feature recipes celebrating her Southern, Low Country heritage. The evening will showcase Freeman's broad culinary scope and at least one recipe from her upcoming cookbook. This will be more of a demo-style class allowing guests to focus on enjoying light conversation paired with an incredible meal. The menu includes Honey-Roasted Tomatoes with Whipped Feta Crostini, Roasted Beet and Watermelon Salad, Black-eyed Pea Cakes with Pickled Shrimp, and for dessert, Chocolate Chess PiePlease note that due to insurance, this is an alcohol-free event.

Age Requirement: 18 years or older

Location: The Cooking Kauai, Provisions Kitchen in Lawai. The exact location will be shared after registering.

Chef Ashley Strickland Freeman is an award-winning food stylist, culinary producer, recipe developer, author, editor, and food photographer. With a degree in journalism from The University of Georgia and a degree in Culinary Arts from The French Culinary Institute, she has developed editorial and advertising content for more than 45 publications. For years, she was the culinary producer for Delicious Miss Brown on The Food Network and has also worked for multiple brands including Southern Living, Coastal Living, Cooking Light, Health, Lodge Cast-Iron, Dove Chocolate, Wonder Bread, and Le Creuset to name a few. Her third cookbook, The Duke’s Mayonnaise Cookbook was published in June 2020.

Ashley is based in Charleston, South Carolina, and frequently works in Savannah, Georgia, and South Florida. Besides editing, developing, testing recipes, and creating content for her blog, The Little Black Skillet, she loves being a mom to her son Anderson and traveling with her husband.

Refund Policy

Due to limited seating and the upfront costs of food and its preparation, our classes are final and non-refundable.

Please think of signing up for our classes as you would purchasing a concert ticket-you can always send someone else in your place, but refunds cannot be issued.

Alternatively, you may reach out to us, and we will try our best to sell the seats on your behalf. If we do so, a future credit to a scheduled class will be issued.

Refunds will only be issued if Monkeypod Jam needs to shut down/cancel events due to unforeseen events or low participation (less than 6).

We appreciate your understanding that this is how we maintain our business and provide boutique-style service.
