Julia Child is often quoted for saying, 'Food people really are the best people.' We wholeheartedly agree. Join us for our first Cookbook Club event of 2026!

Featured Cookbook: Good Things by Samin Nosrat

"Good Things is an essential, joyful guide to cooking and living, whether you’re looking for a comforting tomato soup to console a struggling friend, seeking a deeper sense of connection in your life, or hosting a dinner for ten in your too-small dining room."

Samin Nosrat is the author of the James Beard Award-winning New York Times Bestseller Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat. She is an Eat columnist at The New York Times Magazine and the host and an executive producer of the Netflix original documentary series based on her book. She lives, cooks, gardens, and laughs in Berkeley, California.

How it works: Twelve guests may attend this delicious evening event. Once registered, Aletha will reach out and ask which recipe from the book you would like to make. She will ensure that duplicate recipes are not brought to the dinner. All the extras needed for a relaxing evening of good food and better company are covered by Cooking Kauai.

Everyone is expected to have their own copy. The cookbook may be purchased, borrowed, or checked out from a library. We encourage those attending to spend some time with the book, reading the recipes, the author's bio and the stories that inspired the recipes.

Purpose: Food brings people together. A cookbook club creates a space for connection, conversation, and shared experiences. Each cookbook offers a window into different cuisines, traditions, and cooking techniques. We will have the opportunity to try dishes we might never have considered and learn about the stories behind them.

Age Requirement: Ages 21+

Location: The Cooking Kauai, Provisions Kitchen in Lawai. The exact location will be shared after registration. As we host more cookbook events the site may move to new locations around the island.

 Refund Policy

Due to limited seating and the upfront costs of food and its preparation, our classes are final and non-refundable.

Please consider signing up for our classes as you would purchasing a concert ticket - you may send someone else in your place, but refunds cannot be issued.

Alternatively, you may contact us, and we will try our best to sell the seats on your behalf. If we do so, a future credit to a scheduled class will be issued.

Refunds will only be issued if Cooking Kaua'i needs to shut down or cancel events due to unforeseen events or low participation (fewer than 6).

We appreciate your understanding that this is how we maintain our business and provide boutique-style service.
